May 6, 2022 · Go on the bus and make yourself comfy as you pay you when you get off. If you go on weekends, you may want to get to the bus a bit earlier as they can fill up. If you tell somebody you’re going to the Blue Eye they will stop outside for you. The journey from Saranda to the Blue Eye is about 30 minutes.

The fall is said to be the best time to visit Albania since the weather is nicest and the crowds are less. Do note that a lot happens outside in Albania. Being there as spring turned to summer, you could see more movement on the streets, cafes opening up, and tables lining the sidewalks for al fresco dining.

If you manage to see Butrint until midday, you can make a quick visit to the Blue Eye, one of the natural wonders of Albania. Take into consideration that the Blue Eye is located about a 30 minute drive away from the coastal city of Saranda, but it is totally worth it.

Saranda is hemmed into the coast by tall hills, and atop one of these is a rambling old structure that goes back to Albania’s early Ottoman times. Lekuresi Castle was once a citadel that enclosed an entire village, but today lies in semi-ruin.

Aug 12, 2022 · By ferry: From Corfu, Greece, ferries run daily to Saranda, then buses run regularly between Saranda and Ksamil. The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours. I think renting your own car is the best way to get to Ksamil. You get the freedom of going at your own pace, and you can visit anywhere that’s a short drive from Ksamil.
